 Cisco Catalyst 4000 and 4500 Series supervisor engines 
 Supervisor Engine II-Plus - the second layer provides enhanced features at an entry-level price, applies to a small second layer wiring and the third layer QoS and security. 
 Supervisor Engine II-Plus-TS - Supervisor Engine II-Plus based on an increase of 20 wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports (12 Gigabit Ethernet PoE copper ports, eight Gigabit Ethernet SFP optical ports). The only support in the Catalyst 4503 chassis.

 Line cards 
 Fast Ethernet copper - Fast Ethernet line card may optionally PoE, all with 24-port and 48-port connection type. 
 Fast Ethernet fiber - to support multi-mode fiber and single-mode fiber, and FX, LX and BX transceiver. 
 Gigabit Ethernet copper wire - and 24-port or 48-port, with or without PoE. 
 Gigabit Ethernet fiber - Gigabit Ethernet fiber card provides high-performance Gigabit Ethernet uplinks and server farm connectivity. Provide a variety of port number and type of optical interfaces (gigabit interface converter [GBIC and SFP optical interface). 
 Centralized architecture
